School of the Sisters of the Cross – Hrajel

School history

The school of the Sisters of the Cross was founded in 1957 in Hrajel, after the death of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, at the request of the inhabitants of the village, with the aim of rooting families in their villages.

At the beginning, this school was a primary free school then it was transformed into a private intermediary school in 1974 then into a secondary school in 1993. Today it is transformed again to be an intermediary school because of the small number of the students in the classes.

It applies the official curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Fine Arts and undertakes religious, cultural, artistic, scientific and sports activities.

In 2010, an upper floor was built in the school to accommodate girls with special social needs and orphans; this floor includes bedrooms, bathrooms, a large living room, a dining room and all that contributes to creating a warm family atmosphere for the girls, which allows them to be developed physically, spiritually and intellectually in the best possible way, helping them to lead a decent and comfortable life.

It should be noted that the school of the Sisters of the Cross in Hrajel is of a high scientific and academic level, so that its learners are among the first in official exams in the governorate of Mount Lebanon.
