In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
First day
O Jesus, of overall goodness and generosity, you said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven”, we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who made his dependence on your divine providence as the light for his mission and the achievement of his projects and establishments, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Prayer (repeated after the prayer of each day)
O Lord Jesus Christ, you who are amazing in your saints, and complement love in your church through your faithful servants, like Blessed Abouna Yaacoub. He served you by living his devotion and priesthood faithfully to you and your holy church. In the spirit of your bible, following the Good Samaritan example, he took care of the elderly, the patients, the needy and the youth, and thus he built hospitals, shelters and schools, and founded the Franciscan Sisters of the Cross Congregation as a live testimony of your presence in the pains of humanity.
We ask you, O Lord, to respond to our prayers, us who seek his intercession, and give us the grace which we request with faith and complete surrender to your good will. Let us see him becoming a saint on the altars of the church. Send to his Congregation the vocations that put themselves in the service of your Kingdom, and witness to the power of your love in the world, O Lord our God, glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Blessed Father and your living Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Second day
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, you said: “Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth,” we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who lived and died gentle, while repeating: “He who practices gentleness wins many graces”, to grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Third day
O Jesus, healer and comforter of hearts, you said: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”. That’s why we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who embraced your Cross as you embraced it, and who, in love for you, endured joyfully all the agony of the body and the pain of the soul, to the point that he summarized his life and the lives of his nuns with this slogan: “O Cross of the Lord, so dear to the heart”, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Fourth day
O Jesus, the Bread of Life and good wine, you said: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled”, we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who quenched the thirst of many people and illuminated the darkness of routes with his sermons, guidance, writings and advices, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Fifth day
O Jesus full of mercy, you said: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy”, we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who lived mercy to its fullest extent, silent and chatty, worker and worshiper, and enduring agony with all his heart, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Sixth day
O pure heart of Jesus, you said: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God,” we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who lived the perfection of chastity and the purity of heart, he who said: “As much as we take our eyes off the people of the world, we are able to see the face of God”, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Seventh day
O Jesus Lord of peace, you said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God,” we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who roamed around preaching peace, witnessing to your love and caring for the pain of many people like the Good Samaritan, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Eighth day
O Jesus full of compassion and tenderness, you said: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven,” we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who never retreated before the difficulties, persecutions and tribulations, but defended the truth and the life, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…, Hail Mary… and Glory Be…
Ninth Day
O Living Jesus, our ideal, you said: “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven,” we ask you by the intercession of Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, who surrendered his life into your hands with confidence and joy, for believing that “The Cross is a must for anyone who wants Heaven”, grant us grace … so that we lift glory and thanksgiving to you and to your Father and your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
