The hospital has 1000 beds and receives an average of 2200 patients per year. It includes 5 pavilions, including Saint-Jacques pavilion, built in 1950. With a capacity of 130 beds, distributed on 6 floors, it receives a private clientele, patients from the Ministry of Defense, the Internal Security Forces, State Security, the National Social Security Fund, the Customs Service, the Mutual Funds of the Lebanese University, etc. Following the terrible period of war, the building has become dilapidated, both internally and in its infrastructure, no longer providing a service worthy of patients. Despite the maintenance and restoration work carried out over the past years, we urgently need rehabilitation in order to meet the essential needs of patients.
An estimate was prepared by the engineers and architects, for a floor with a surface area of 1000 m2 (the other 5 floors are of the same surface). The cost is 1,058,100 USD: demolition and cleaning, construction in breeze blocks, black cement plaster, tiles, interior and aluminum carpentry, electrical and sanitary works, elevator, heating, interior painting, false ceilings, air conditioning, study and supervision.
Despite our heightened fears that threaten the continuity of our humanitarian service, we are counting on the generosity of benefactors to support us in these dire circumstances.
