Naaman El-Khoury’s family had strong ties with Abouna Yaacoub since the World War II. When the family died out without any heirs, the elderly sisters Josephine and Marie thought of donating their property to a religious order to found an institution that perpetuates the family name. And because of Mary’s relationship with Abouna Yaacoub, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Cross was chosen. Thus, in March 1995, the Sisters were appointed there and they began teaching sewing, and artistic work as well as spiritual activities in the parish. Later, these works were stopped due to the illness of Mrs. Marie El-Khoury, may her soul rest in peace. And since 2008, the Congregation no longer had a permanent presence in the house, for lack of vocations.

This project suited the wish of the Founder: the presence of the Congregation in the remote areas of the country. It remains to realize the aspiration of the donor family, that of building a social institution.
